You two are getting big. And smart. And handsome.
Peyton, you stood up yesterday for the first time, while at the bottom step, but kept slipping because of the hardwood floors. You have been army crawling for a while now, and are starting to take toys from your brother. Well, he won't allow you to take, but you try and are mad when you can't. You have become a binky lover, at 8 months- i think that is weird. I attribute it to teething. Your wearing 12-18 month clothing, some 24 month even. You have never lost your hair, and are getting more of it. Your eyes are getting darker, i hope they will turn out like your dad's and brothers, brown. And i might be biased, but your the most handsome 9month old i have ever seen, Im not surprised, but you have exceeded my expectations of our second child.

Dominic, you have been sleeping on the top bunk for a few weeks now, i flinch at every sound i hear every time you are in there. I get up every night and make sure you are safely away from the ladder. You are talking so much, and sometimes i just want some peace. You love to dance, and start moving the second music comes on. You love to sing too, and are the most fun to watch. Your very concerned with who is playing, or even looking at your toys, no one can get passed you. Your my best friend, and i love spending time with you. Im so blessed to be both your mom.

I love you,

Today i don't want to forget this moment. Where you, Dominic, are playing with your cars on the couch, rolling them across your tummy, taking every toy Peyton touches away from him, rolling around on the ground with him.

Where you, Peyton, are watching everything Dominic does, trying to do everything he does, laughing at everything he does, talking all day long-but no one knowing what your saying. Moving your little feet and arms trying to go places.

Dominic, you talk to your brother when he cries, mostly because of something you did. Peyton, you smile and laugh at your brother when he talks to you. You are 2 and 7months today. In a blink you will be 12 and 10. Please don't forget the admiration you have for each other today, and try to remember that you are each others best friends.

I love you,

You two are so amazinly cute, I want to eat you! You both love eachother so much, I feel like the 3rd wheel sometimes. Peyton, you smile like i have never seen when dominic is talking to you, and Dominic, only baby can you smile ALL the time. Dominic, all you talk about it BABY, you tickle him, love to feed him-although you tease him with the bottle-are always willing to give him is blanky or "B" when he spits up you make sure to tell me. Peyton, your face lights up when your big brother comes in the room. You two have so much fun together, im so lucky i get to enjoy it now. I know you are best friends, but im sure there will come a day when you have your fights. You two can make eachother laugh like no one else, Dominic, you think you are so funny when your teasing peyton. You have started to tell him "NO" for no reason at all, and take his toys, but are quick to give them back when you notice someone has seen you. I just can't say enough how happy it makes me to see you two together, and it's only been 5 months :)

Love you,

You two love eachother so much. Dominic, the first thing you do whenever you get up from a nap or the night, is ask for baby and point to my room ( peyton, you are still sleeping with me). You love to talk to him, try feeding him, wipe his face when he spits up, try to hold him and kiss him, you LOVE it when he lays in your crib with you. While we are in the store, you will tell people walking by that he is your baby. Peyton, you love it when he talks to you, you look at him like he is the only person in the world. You smile at him when he is being silly, and try your hardest not to cry when he is to rough with you. As you grow, you will know how much i wanted girls, ( there is still hope for a sister) but im over the moon that god gave me you two peanuts. I hope you have what your uncle Garrett and i didn't share, which was friendship. We were only 3yrs apart, but just didn't have much in common growing up. As you get older, you will realize the pricelessnes of siblings. It makes me so happy to see you two be so intriguing by the other, and it's only been 3months. Im so excited for the future with my boys!

I love you,
What can i say to you....that i fricken LOVE you soooo much!!! And today you are 2 yrs old. Wow, that went fast. Hoepfully when you are reading these letters, you will be able to really grasp how fast time goes by. Right now you are very into cars-like the hot wheel kind, and balls. You got an awesome monster truck from Uncle Scott, Your papa Jay's brother, and you LOVE it. The noises you make while playing is darling and you try to carry all your little cars with you everywhere. As im typing, you are on the floor behind me pretending to drink some tomato soup, saying "awwww" after every gulp! You are jabbering all day, you LOVE your brother, but are not quite sure how to express it, you love to see a big truck when we are driving, you talk into everything electric like it's a phone, we are attempting potty training, you wipe your face, clap your hands and dance immediately when some awesome music comes on. The only song you sing to is Britney Spears "Dance until the world ends" Probably because all you can say is "oh oh oh" You love your cousins more than ANYTHING. Especially Landon and Kailyn, and let me tell you, they love you just as much. You all will be great friends. Im so glad your dad and I made the decision to move home to be closer to family. Even if that meant living in an apt for a while, until we could afford a house. Family son, is the most important thing. You will realize that someday. It took me a long while to learn that. I can not wait to watch you grow the next 2 yrs.

I love you,
JaspersonIt's been so great to know you my love! You started to come on a Friday night, we had pasta for dinner and were watching Despicable Me with your brother. I had my 39 week check up the day before or that day, i forget. I had been having small contractions all day, nothing serious, I remember thinking you were never going to come, but joked you were coming that weekend. At about 8pm we started timing the contractions, we went to the hospital by midnight, and your MiMi came to stay with Dominic. The contractions were unbearable, i could not take it and got an epidural. You were born 20min later, i should of waited! You were born at 3:25am, and the cutest thing ever. I am sitting here now, looking at you laying on the couch in the boppy, making baby noises. I am so lucky. Your brother ADORES you, first thing he says every time he wakes up, Is "BABY" he tries very hard to be helpful, by giving (throwing) your binky at you, covering you up (just your face) with a blanket and comforting (hitting) you when you cry. You have very generous grandparents, who love you more than you know. I am so glad you were sent to me safely, your brother and yourself are my life! I hope i make you proud my love.
As exciting as a baby shower is, it can not compare to that of your first child. Nothing is comparable to your first anything when it comes to having kids. I feel more prepared, although i am prepared to be surprised with having 2 babies under 2. Im so excited to celebrate the coming of a brother for you, however the gifts become less meaningful, the clothes become less cute and the diapers seem less exciting. I say this only because reality set in when you arrived, and life becomes less about the material things. I love thinking back about my pregnancy and labor with you. It was a breeze, probably to save my energy for when you got older :) You came 6 weeks early, just to meet us! Sometimes i don't feel like a mom, i feel like your are just my best friend i get to hang out with all the time. I love being with you!! In these last few weeks that we have to ourselves, I want to cherish them. I want to stare at you, smell you, kiss you, hold you and watch you play until were no longer alone. You have been more than i could ever thought having a child could be, in a good way. You are hilarious, sneaky, stubborn, smart and ADORABLE beyond comprehension. You will be an amazing big brother, i hope you someday understand how much i love you, however i know you cant until you have your own baby one day.

I love you Dominic,

You are learning so fast these days! People tell me you can tell something is about to change at your house, with the arrival of your brother, Im not sure i believe it. You can't possibly know there is a person in mommys tummy, i think! Sometimes i have a hard time comprehending how that miracle works. You say baby when you pull up my shirt, and sometimes even daddy's, yours and your cousins shirts :) You throw things in the garbage for us, put your clothes in the hamper, grab your diapers and shoes when asked. Lately you love to put shoes on, mine, dads and yours. It is so wonderful watching the things you learn. You copy me with my makeup, eyelash curler and hair brush. Today we are looking at our new stroller and you point to the car seat and say baby, while trying to do the buckles. I know you will be an amazing big brother, and such a big help. I can't wait to see you teach your brother the things you learn, hopefully only the good things.

I love you,

I have to tell you that this Journal was not my idea. I ran across it from a former co-worker, that i have much respect for, and knew i had to have one for my kids too. I had already had a blog, but wasn't good at keeping up on it, and it wasn't just letters to you, it was about our life-which became to busy for me to write about. Anyway, as i struggle sometimes on what to write to you, i think that i need to go to this co workers blog to see how she writes to her kids. Then i get mad that i can't do this myself and don't look at her blog and dont end up writing to you. Well there is a big difference between me and this co-worker, therefore there will be a difference between what we write our children. I wanted you to know that it is ok to do things the way you want to, the way that things come to you and are executed by you, are who you are. I spend so much time analyzing how to do things perfect or better, that it takes up to much time and i don't end up doing them at all. I hope that you don't struggle with that, and are able to just do things. A lot of times, your first instinct is the right one. I love you boys,

Love your Mother.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4063547173701279130.post-21068725175243681222011-04-08T09:38:00.000-07:002011-04-08T09:38:58.843-07:00ChangesI have been wanting to do this for so long, gosh.....20 months to be exact. I thought I would document every diaper change, feeding, outing, movement, and accomplishment of you. Boy was i wrong. I underestimated the job i had just hired myself for, for the rest of my life. Oh, Dominic you have kept me so busy i get exhausted just watching you. And im still in my roaring 20's!! I will make it my passion to give you and your brother the memories of your childhood. Today you are 1 day away from being 20 months old. I had no idea what happiness you would bring me, and sometimes pain. I want this journal to be a way for you to look back and hopefully see how much you mean to your dad and I. You are growing so fast. You learn a new word almost everyday, but no word can compare to your favorite "No". You say no, to EVERYTHING you are asked, even while nodding your head up and down. You love mickey mouse clubhouse, you will smile, sing and dance when you hear it on the TV. You dance the second you hear any kind of music. Right now you love Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and Anything else on the radio for that matter. I have to go put you down for a nap now, you love to take naps with dad or I. I love you!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4063547173701279130.post-32002348097807229642010-07-02T07:52:00.000-07:002010-07-02T08:21:21.286-07:00EggplantIm the first to admit cooking is not my fortay. But, in our house there are just some things i cook, and some things aaron cooks. We both love FOOD, especially anything fried ( lucky for my butt, we don't fry things often ) So while at cheesecake factory a few years ago, we discovered best of both worlds, healthy and fried!! The incredible edible eggplant sandwich!!! Our other favorite food is fried green tomatoes, and fried zucchini, you see a trend. Anyway, i cooked eggplant parmasean the other day, and oh my gosh it was good!! So i thought what else can i do with eggplant. Well, why not make a sandwich! So here it is, one of the most yummiest things ever, and I made it!!! It's sooo easy. On a muli-grain ciabatta roll, toasted with garlic butter. Fry- or im sure you could bake, which i will actually try next time-, in grape seed oil thinly cut rounds of eggplant. I use panko bread crumbs that i season with garlic powder, onion salt, oregano and some parsley. While those are drying i saute red pepper and red onion. Then i attempted to make a garlic aioli, but didn't have lemon juice, so just used mayo. I put slices of eggplant on the ciabatta, then topped with fresh mozzarella, toasted to melt the cheese, then topped with tomato and pepper/onion mix and was in HEAVEN!!

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4063547173701279130.post-68139458908940815062010-05-10T19:09:00.001-07:002010-05-10T19:25:42.627-07:00Mothers dayNot only was my son physically here this mothers day, as opposed to being in my tummy. But so was my mother! It was great. I have to be honest and say this holiday has never meant so much. I was always a mom to my dolls, and pets, but come on-as much as i treated them like humans, they let me sleep through the night, didn't teeth, pull my hair, throw up on me, need to be taken in and out of a car seat several thousand times a day, have as many cute clothes that i had to make a very hard decision buying, continue crying when i consoled them, hurt when i got them, or keep me from working. Of course, those are my favorite things about being a mom. Aaron was deathly sick this mothers day, so we will be celebrating next weekend. Me and my mom had a great time. She cooked me an awesome breakfast, we went on a great walk with dominic and he went on his first swing (pics to come) and we went to springdale which is the closest thing to home here in So Ut! I love my mom, and every day i see things in myself that remind me of her, to the way i talk and sound, to how i clean and decorate. She is so generous, and i know now how much she loves me and why she called all my friends house's to make sure i was really there, and only wanted the best for me.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4063547173701279130.post-46679707981756523102010-05-05T21:48:00.000-07:002010-05-05T22:18:16.055-07:00Dominics roomIm finally posting! I feel kinda funny saying that because im not sure anyone reads this. But oh well.
I finally have D's room done, well, with what i can do on our budget and the fact that were renting and i can't paint any walls. The biggest thing i was working on was his bookcase, i bought it before he was born and it was BRIGHT red. I knew i would paint it, i just never knew what color. so alone in the closet it sat until recently. I was blog surfing and came across a blog where this girl painted a dresser and nightstand YELLOW! I would never think to paint anything yellow, but it turned out great and now i am inlove with yellow! The primary colors in his room are blue, cream and brown so i was planning on painting it brown. Boy im glad id didn't. Painting and sanding sucked more than i thought it would, but all in all, im glad i got the experience and now know what i have to look forward to when i buy something and plan on changing the color. I also recently got 4 new dining chairs that need painting, so we will see how that turns out. Besides the bookcase, i bought some boat shaped hooks for the wall that i was also going to paint, and good heavens was that a disaster. Long story short, i finally spray painted them, thanks to my sis in law kendall, and it was a done deal. I do love his room, and am so in love with him.

The before: The after:

The before: The after:

Curtains for his closet

I found really cheap floating shelves, which i love floating shelves. But it has found a way to become an inspiration to me. Lately in my spin classes, I have been getting emotional while im spinning away as fast as i can. The awesome lady who teaches this class is also the one who teaches the kickbox class i go to once a week and she is competing. I also wonder if she is a motivational speaker, the power of her words during my workout have made me push harder than i ever have before and are the reason for my feelings. I have always been active, i can't remember a year in school i didn't play volleyball, soccer or basketball. All i said was "play" I didn't say i was good. Even while attending a HUGE university i had the guts to play inter-mural soccer (what i was thinking-i have no idea), But i never gave it my all. In any sport i played. Since becoming an adult and working out, it is completely different experience than playing sports as a teenager. I actually care what im doing! I love love love the feeling after a workout, when your sore, sweaty and just pushed yourself to feel stronger. I have never done spin before, just the past month, but it's so much more than just a workout. It's an hour to myself to just think. I have no desire to ride bikes....i like the atmosphere of my class a lot. The lights are turned off, the music is loud and Nicole, the instructor, is telling you how hard you have to work to get what you want. And what i want is to feel good about myself, in a bikini! Most the people in the class are avid bike riders, they have those special shoes, do all the marathons and have really cool workout clothes. Even though i can say i will probably never be as great as athletes as them, being there knowing im part of their workout is a great feeling. Working out has become something that makes me feel better about myself, i have total control over it and after every class or home work out i do; is an accomplishment i am proud of. So here's to the iron man competitors, i look up to you and you must be crazy to do what you do!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4063547173701279130.post-9116759313397182402010-03-06T14:03:00.000-08:002010-03-06T14:21:03.536-08:00A week in the life......of the Jaspersons. The other day i was getting ready in my bathroom, and dominic was laying on my bed, and he coughed. This wasn't the first time he had made a noise, but it made me smile. The door was closed, and just hearing MY BABY on the other side of that door, knowing that a person I created is out there living his life happy as can be, is still amazing to me. It just reminded me how lucky i am to have a healthy baby boy, who is perfect. He is growing so fast i can't believe it. He is 6 months old today, and the cuter than i ever could of dreamed. He loves rice cereal, and eat's it once a day. I gave him a little banana today too, which he loved even more. I know i should start with veggies, it's just i was eating a banana and he was staring at it, and i felt bad. He rolls and rolls to his heart's content. He LOVES his jumper, and can jump all day if you let him. I caught him staring at his hands today trying to figure them out. Im not gonna lie, I want another baby. I know having such an easy pregnancy and labor, and such a good baby is making it much easier to think about it. We'll see. Aaron works 4 days a week 9am to 8pm, and just started volunteering at the golf course one day a week, and we both want to start school. But, i want my kids close. And im not the type of person to let anything stop me. We'll see.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4063547173701279130.post-42534297942822152122010-01-10T15:47:00.000-08:002010-01-10T18:02:08.029-08:00Just plain lazy...That's the reason i have not been blogging. And that most my family uses facebook and that's how we keep in touch. I really like blogging, and i feel like everyone has just let it go. Id like to at least do a post a week, that will be my goal! So dominic is 5 months, i can't believe it!!! every month i tell myself i can't believe it when he is gonna be another month older and it came and went, sad how fast time goes! He is HUGE! Well, to me anyway. He is 15.7lbs and 24in long! According to some baby books, he is right on track for a full term baby of his age, which is great! However, he is wearing mostly 3month clothes, i know all the clothing sizes are different. Some shirts he wears are 9months, so go figure. He just rolled over the other day, and loves his bumbo and aunt kendalls jump a roo- i mean he loves it!!! I attempted cereal, but his tounge reflex is still so big he pushes it right out. He has been sleeping through the night since about 4months, and that's when we put him in his crib. He had no problem making the switch. However, he does make it into our bed sometimes. Im sure all mom's love it, but it really is the best sleeping with your baby! He smells so good, and i could just tickle him all day! This thing called facebook has consumed my life! But anyway;
This will be the first of the last three christmas's I will actually be home, so Im a little excited to say the least to have my very own christmas tree!!! A christmas tree is a huge deal to me. My mom always made it a very important part of christmas. From the day after thanksgiving going to tree farms to pick one out, to the gorgeous orniments and lights that go on it. Yes, i love christmas trees! Back home there were tons of parking lot vendors that would put out their trees, or a nursery called angelos that we would go to. My mom always had the guy pull it out, twirl it and we would decide what one was the best. Grand Fir's were what I remember getting the most of, they smell so good! This year i picked out a douglas fir and im in love. The house smells wonderful, and it's a perfect shape and height! 7ft is all we did this year, until I inherit my mom's christmas ornimants, I don't have enough to go any bigger. I also forgot to put the ribbon around the tree, so it looks kinda plain. I actually don't have enough now, but Im not gettin a tree that is shorter than aaron.

Dominic is 4 months today, and has been the best part of my life! He is getting more fun to hang out with, and he laughs and talks all the time. We have his 4 month tomorrow, which means shots. He didn't do to bad last time, so im not to nervous. He has just about tripled his birth weight, and im not sure how tall he is. He is wearing some 0-3, but mostly 3 month stuff. Some 3-6 and it's so much fun to dress him!

Here are his christmas PJ's. He is 9lbs 2oz and looks like a chucky monkey! He is so great to hang out with, he smiles when you talk to him, he is cooing and he can just hang out on the couch or bed and be fine with it. He can actually make his bouncer move now when he is in it, he used to be too lite. He can hold his head up pretty good and had just about outgrown his newborn stuff! I knew i would love being a mom, but this kid has far surpassed my expectations of how much i could love anything! I dont know if any other child could be any cuter. I finally decided on a video camera and it should be here soon so I can start capturing these precious moments.

<img style="cursor: pointer; It was a great experience. Aaron's brother adam put it together and had a delicious meal planned for the family after. We are so thankful for that, thanks everyone!
